A Chat with Victoria Peterson of Canvas Cafe'

To start, this post is going to be different from our usual interview format. I chatted a bit with Victoria Peterson of Canvas Cafe' and she shared a bunch of great info with me. Instead of the interview, I'm going to break it down here in sections, starting with an intro/bio. Here we go!

Victoria is a born and raised Alaskan. She creates her art in the Mat-Su Valley where she's also been teaching art to the community since 2009 and raising a family. You can find her playing in paint weekly at her classes for those who are differently-abled, at private art parties, and teaching elementary students art at Iditarod Elementary School. Most recently, the art she creates is a combination of stains, such as coffee mixed with watercolor and ink on paper, and focuses on adventure themes and Alaskan subjects. She also loves to experiment with wood mediums, watercolor and ink, and fluid spray painting. She plans on expanding her entrepreneurial ventures this summer with the release of hand foraged earth and plant-based paints!

With a passion for creative community connections, Victoria aims to inspire and encourage a culture of identity and belonging through creativity by bringing attention to the natural beauty of Alaskan wildlife, nature, and its people.
